So, What Can You Bring In?
Pretty much any aluminium you’ve got lying around. Drink cans are always popular, whole or flattened, it doesn’t matter. We see plenty of aluminium wheel rims come through as well. Just do yourself a favour and pull the tyres off first; you’ll get a better price for clean rims.
If you’re a tradie or you’ve just finished a reno, we’re happy to take aluminium extrusion like window frames and door frames. We also buy aluminium sheet, pure aluminium wire, and even old engines and gearboxes (as long as they’re at least 25 per cent aluminium).
The key thing to remember is that cleaner aluminium means more cash. If your scrap has plastic coatings, screws, rubber bits, or other attachments stuck to it, it won’t fetch as much as. It’s worth spending a few minutes separating things out before you come in.
What is Aluminium Scrap Actually Worth?
That depends on a couple of things, mainly the grade of your aluminium and what the market’s doing on any given day. Aluminium prices fluctuate based on the International Metal Exchange, so what you get today might be slightly different to next week.
